Zambia Metal Mine Green Power Transportation and Smelting Integrated Project

Release time:2026-10-20

Project Name: Metal Mine Green Power Transportation and Smelting Integrated Project

Project Location: Zambia

Project Introduction:
Leveraging Zambia's resources of over 80 million tons of copper-zinc ore, this project establishes an integrated zero-carbon industrial model of "green power transportation + smelting." It covers a 30-kilometer transportation route from the mining area to the smelter, deploying 50 electric heavy trucks with a 50-ton payload capacity. With 8 round trips per day, the fleet ensures a daily transport capacity of no less than 20,000 tons. The project is equipped with 12 liquid-cooled 720 kW charging piles, enabling ultra-fast charging of "280 kWh in 20 minutes" to match high-frequency transportation demands. A 17 MW PV system combined with a 16 MW energy storage system is deployed to support both the 50 heavy trucks' daily transportation electricity consumption of 34,200 kWh and the smelter's two production lines operating 24 hours a day with a daily electricity consumption of 19,200 kWh, forming a self-sustaining green power closed loop. Backed by low raw material costs, leading smelting technology, deep local cooperation, and an ESG strategy, the project not only achieves green power substitution in both transportation and production, but also serves as a "low-cost, zero-carbon, and sustainable" operational model for resource-based industries.
